Val Gardena, a ski region on the “TOP”
The internet portal “www.skigebiete-test.de” distinguished Val Gardena also for 2010 as “TOP” ski area for families and beginners.
The ski-area Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi offers perfect conditions above all for beginners and families. For this clientele, above all the section of Seiser Alm is to be recommended. Here where also the most red marked tracks can be mastered by unpracticed skiers or small children beside the blue departures without bigger problems. In the categories “Après Ski”, tracks for advanced, professionals and freerider was only missed the maximum-score barely. The offer on igloos, bars and cottages will convince each après ski fan.
The advanced skier or Snowboarder are the best lifted in the Val Gardena ski area where the most selective departures are to be found. If one acquires the Dolomiti Superski pass it’s possible to join the famous “Sella Ronda” with altogether 1220 track-kilometers directly from Val Gardena skiing area.
Some is offered for athletic skiers!
Alone the beautiful panorama of the Sella group (3151m) and to the Sassolungo (3181m) is a ski-trip to Val Gardena worth. But also on the tracks, some is offered for the advanced skier. As well to over 100 track-kilometers of the red category, innumerable possibilities present themselves here to spend an eventful ski-day. The most selective departures of the ski-region are Val Gardena in the section for itself. However, the big advantage is that one can join the famous “Sella Ronda” and the large “Dolomiti Superski” area starting from Val Gardena and using one single skipass.
Very good skiers are well advised to
spend their ski-day in the upper section of “Val Gardena” above Selva. Besides numerous red departures, there are also some possibilities there to let off steam on black tracks. From the Ciampinoi Hill (2254m) above Selva 2 departures of the most difficult category immediately lead until down after Selva and St. Christina.
TOP for families!
Beside the departures at the elevators in Ortisei and the “blue” tracks in the rest of the section, also the most red marked departures of the smallest can be mastered without bigger problems here. Children, who certainly already stand on the skis, can use the rest of the ski-area also without risk. The low fraction of Gröden (around the T-bar lift) 34, with the numerous beginner-elevators and a child-park is to be recommended particularly on that occasion. Also a rapid trip to one of the toboggans in the ski-area or a wintry carriage-trip contributes to an unforgettable ski-vacation in Val Gardena. Practiced “skier-parents”, whose children learn in the ski-area of skiing exactly with one of the ski-schools, can discover the appropriate slopes around Val Gardena ski section in the meanwhile.
All in all perfect conditions for beginners!
Beside the breathtaking panorama of the Dolomites, beginners come into the pleasure of innumerable easy departures. Beside the departures at the elevators in St. Ulrich and the “plastered” piste in the rest of the section can be mastered also the most red marked departures of unpracticed skiers without bigger problems. However, also the low fraction of Val Gardena, directly beside Selva, is very well suitable for the first attempts on skis. Whoever already expects somewhat more can prove its abilities in the rest of the ski-area also anytime. In order to use over 50 track-kilometers of the easiest category, however also some “red” track-connections are to be managed. Since the transition is Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi between the sections somewhat difficult and time-consuming, one should decide in favor of a section at the beginning of the ski-day. However, only the well-grade can be forgiven on the basis of the big offer for all beginners among the winter ski athletes in this category.
